Billing and pricing
Promptic pricing combines a subscription plan, AI Application capacity, included Promptic Credits, Promptic Credit overage on paid plans, and separate managed model usage.
Plan Summary
| Plan | Monthly price | Included AI Applications | Included Promptic Credits | Trace retention | Retained storage |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | €0 | 1 | 200,000 / month | 14 days | 1 GB |
| Team | €149 | 1 | 1,000,000 / month | 30 days | 10 GB |
| Business | €599 | 5 | 5,000,000 / month | 90 days | 100 GB |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Custom | Custom | Custom |
Team and Business can add AI Application capacity. Additional AI Applications are €100 per month each. Business can also add five AI Applications for €400 per month. Enterprise capacity, committed usage, retention, support, and deployment terms are custom.
AI Applications
An AI Application is the billable product boundary for one application, agent, workflow, or production use case. It includes the prompts, traces, datasets, evaluations, deployments, access controls, and usage tied to that application.
AI Components are organizational units inside an AI Application. They help you separate prompts, traces, experiments, and evaluations, but they are not priced separately at launch.
Free includes one AI Application and cannot buy add-ons. Team includes one AI Application. Business includes five AI Applications. Enterprise plans use custom capacity terms.
Promptic Credits
Promptic Credits are the normalized usage unit for Promptic platform activity. They cover retained/queryable traces, optimization work, standalone evaluation results, dataset updates, retained storage overage, and model-backed platform activity. Managed model provider cost is tracked separately from Promptic Credits.
Each plan includes monthly Promptic Credits. Credits above the included allowance are billed as overage for self-serve paid plans:
| Plan | Overage rate |
|---|---|
| Free | No paid overage |
| Team | €10 per 100,000 Promptic Credits |
| Business | €8 per 100,000 Promptic Credits |
| Enterprise | Custom |
Included credits reset each billing period. They are not cash, credits with a model provider, or a prepaid balance.
Promptic Credit Types
| Usage type | Credits | When it applies |
|---|---|---|
| Trace root | 5 | A new top-level trace or agent run is accepted and retained. |
| Span | 1 | A retained span is accepted, such as an LLM call record, tool call, retrieval step, or agent step. |
| Span event | 1 | A retained span event or log event is accepted. |
| Dataset item | 5 | A dataset item is created or updated. |
| Deterministic eval score | 5 | A standalone deterministic eval, human score, or feedback result is persisted. |
| LLM judge result | 25 | A standalone LLM judge result is persisted. Managed-model provider cost, when used, is billed separately. |
| Optimization iteration | 1,000 | An optimization iteration produces a persisted iteration record. |
| Successful optimization | 50,000 | A successful optimization completes and produces a usable optimized result. |
| Model-backed platform activity | 1 | A model call uses Promptic platform infrastructure. BYOK/custom-provider calls still use this platform activity credit; managed model cost is billed separately. |
| Large retained payload | +1 per additional 16 KB | Retained trace payload size exceeds the included baseline payload size. |
| Retained storage overage | 30,000 / GB-month | Retained storage exceeds the plan's included storage allowance for the billing period. |
Failed or incomplete optimizations do not have a separate outcome charge. They only consume credits for optimization iterations and model-backed platform work that already produced persisted usage records.
Model Usage
Model provider usage is separate from the plan subscription.
With BYOK or custom providers, you pay the provider directly. Promptic does not charge the model provider cost, but Promptic platform activity still consumes Promptic Credits.
With Promptic-managed model access, Promptic bills the model provider cost separately from Promptic Credits. The billed amount is based on provider cost, currency conversion where needed, and the plan's managed-model usage multiplier. The usage dashboard shows managed model usage separately from Promptic Credit activity.
Optimizations And Judges
Failed optimizations still consume credits for work already performed, including iterations, model calls, and persisted judge results. They do not create a separate outcome charge.
Persisted LLM judge results consume Promptic Credits. If the judge uses Promptic-managed model access, the model provider cost is billed separately as managed model usage. If it uses BYOK or a custom provider, only Promptic platform activity credits apply inside Promptic.
Storage And Retention
Each plan includes a trace retention window and retained storage allowance. Retained storage above the included allowance is converted into Promptic Credits. Enterprise plans can use custom retention and storage terms.
Large trace payloads include a small retained-payload allowance per event, with additional retained payload billed in Promptic Credits.
Usage Controls
Billing admins can view current Promptic Credit usage and managed model usage in the billing UI. Free does not have paid Promptic Credit overage; paid plans bill Promptic Credit overage at the plan's overage rate.
The configurable spending limit applies to Promptic-managed model usage only. It is a soft monthly limit for managed model spend. Checks run before starting new managed-model work, but in-flight work can complete and still be billed if usage crosses the limit during execution. BYOK and custom-provider usage do not create managed-model spend inside Promptic.
Enterprise, Private Cloud, And BYOC
Enterprise plans are quoted with custom AI Applications, committed credits, retention, support, security terms, and deployment options. Private Cloud and bring-your-own-cloud deployments are available where appropriate.
